Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has increased the prices of its best selling Amaze model by up to Rs. 7,900 in the domestic passenger vehicle market. Apart for the newly launched compact sedan, the Honda CR-V premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has become dearer by up to Rs. 14,000. The price hike has been in effect since June 1, 2013 in the domestic passenger car market. “We have increased the prices of Honda CR-V in the range Rs. 6,000 to 14,000 and Honda Amaze in the range of Rs. 3,000 to Rs, 7,900 effective from June 1 on account of recent exchange rate fluctuation resulting in depreciation of the Rupee. The entry variant for the Amaze (Petrol) however remains unchanged at Rs 4.99 lakh,” HCIL said in a statement.” At present, Amaze entry level sedan has a waiting period of over three to four months in the country, which explains its astounding demand and popularity among the Indian buyers.
